How it works

Ready to pay. Working while it waits.

Unslept separates the two jobs that usually fight each other. A shared USDG buffer pays every x402 request the instant it is due; each agent's idle balance sits in a tokenized savings position and repays the buffer in the background.

How it works

Four steps, always on.

Unslept separates two jobs that usually fight each other: keeping money ready to pay, and keeping money working. The buffer does the first, tokenized assets do the second.

  1. 01

    Park

Idle agent balances move into Spark Savings USDG (spUSDG), a tokenized savings position on Robinhood Chain. A keeper does it automatically. Owners can opt out per account.

  2. 02

    Pay

When an API answers 402, the SDK checks the agent's on-chain policy and the settlement router pays at once from the buffer, in a single transaction. The agent never waits for an asset to be sold.

  3. 03

    Rebalance

In the background, the parked position repays the buffer. Anyone can trigger it, and it can only move an account's funds to settle that same account's debt.

  4. 04

    Earn

Depositors supply the USDG that settles payments. They earn the instant-settlement fee and the buffer's share of asset yield. The rate is variable and can fall to zero.

The money clockA 24-hour dial. Night hours from 20:00 to 06:00 are shaded. One continuous lit arc runs all the way around the dial: the balance keeps working through every hour.00061218

The money clock

Every hour counts, including the quiet ones.

An agent might pay twice in a morning and then wait until the next day. With Unslept, the waiting hours are working hours too. The lit arc never breaks.

  • Liquid when it matters. The buffer fronts the payment, so a parked balance never makes a call fail.
  • Working when it does not. Between payments the balance earns the variable rate of the underlying asset.
  • Yours throughout. Owners can pause, revoke or withdraw at any time, including while funds are parked.

Who it is for

Built for everyone in the payment.

Agent builders

Give each agent its own account with a per-call cap, a daily cap and an allowlist of APIs it may pay. Fund it once; the balance works between calls and payments never fail for lack of liquidity.

Buffer depositors

Supply the USDG that settles agent payments and earn from real activity: the settlement fee plus the buffer's share of asset yield. No agent required. The rate is variable.

Platforms and API sellers

Plug any framework in through the SDK or MCP server, or accept x402 payments yourself with the sample endpoint. Project treasuries can park idle funds the same way.

Questions

Asked, answered.

Something missing? The docs cover every part of the protocol in detail.

What is x402?

An open payment standard built on the HTTP 402 Payment Required status code. A server answers a request with 402 and its price. The client pays and retries the same request with a proof attached. It lets agents pay for APIs, data and compute per request, without accounts or API keys.

Where does the yield come from?

From two places. Idle balances sit in Spark Savings USDG, whose rate is set by Spark and changes over time. Buffer depositors also receive the small instant-settlement fee that agents pay. Both move with market conditions, so the rate is variable and can be zero.

What happens if the buffer runs low?

Payments larger than the free buffer liquidity fail cleanly with a clear error, and nothing is lost. Anyone can refill the buffer from its parked position, and agents repay their debts from their own parked funds. Depositor withdrawals queue until liquidity returns.

Can Unslept move my funds?

No one can take funds out of your agent account except you. The keeper can only move an account's idle cash into a registered asset and back, and the settlement router can only pay payees you allowlisted, within your caps. Admin changes go through a 24-hour timelock.

Is my deposit at risk?

Yes. Deposits carry smart contract risk, tokenized asset risk, USDG depeg risk, liquidity risk and regulatory risk, and the contracts are not yet audited. Read the risk disclosure before depositing anything.

Do I need to verify my identity?

No. Unslept does not ask for identity documents. Access may be limited from some countries where the law requires it. You are responsible for making sure using Unslept is allowed where you live.

Which agent frameworks work?

Any agent that makes HTTP requests. The TypeScript and Python SDKs wrap fetch, the Python SDK includes a LangChain tool, and the MCP server works with any MCP client. That covers OpenClaw, Virtuals, LangChain, CrewAI and custom stacks.
